Cumin Seeds/Whole is also known as Jeera Whole. Throughout the world, cumin is second in popularity only to black pepper. Its pungent flavour has led to it becoming a staple in south Asian, Northern African, Middle Eastern and Latin American cooking. Cumin has been used since ancient times and is even mentioned in the Bible in both the old andnew testaments. Its known that the ancient Greeks kept cumin at the dinning table in its own container much like salt and pepper are today.
