Surti Kolam rice is a medium-size rice grain variety. It is most popular in the Gujarat/Maharashtra region of India where it is used as everyday rice. It is a milder flavor and aroma than traditional Basmati Rice. Surti Kolam rice grains are short, soft and easily digestable. Cooking Preference: Rinse the rice. Add water and rice in the pot. Add salt, oil or butter. Cook on a high heat until the water starts to boil. Turn the heat down to low. Turn the heat off and leave for 10 minutes.
