Crushed Chillies are made from crushed and flaked, sun dried whole red chillies. In cooking, crushed chillies tend to be used as a replacement for dry whole chillies as they tend to release their flavour more quickly. Crushed chillies are also widely used as a “sprinkle on” spicy topping especially on Pizzas and casseroles. They not only add heat but also colour and texture making any dish more attractive looking.
